[Video] Dog Rescued after it stranded itself on a frozen river in Michigan

A puppy that had stranded itself on a frozen river has been rescued in Michigan. The puppy was left on ice over the Detroit River.

Local channel MLive uploaded a video of this rescue. The rescue happened north of downtown Detroit, in Belle Isle State Park. Detroit Animal Care and Control officers attempted to rescue the pet as it drifted off to an island on the lake.

Fortunately, that the Michigan Humane Animal Search and Rescue (ASAR) Team managed to help. They are the only team that is equipped to manage a water rescue operation! The group managed to attract the dog to security.

“It’s okay big guy,” one rescue team member states in the video. In accordance with MLive, the puppy has been taken to Michigan Humane Mackey Center for Animal Care for treatment for hypothermia.
