LITTLETON, Colo. — South Metro Fire Rescue Department rescued an exhausted, tired and freezing cold dog from the half-frozen waters at Sterne Park Saturday evening.
Officials said that bystanders did the right thing by not trying to rescue the dog themselves, since they would have put themselves at danger as well.
South Metro Fire Rescue was called out and one firefighter was safely able to get the dog out of the water.
Officials reported that the dog is recovering well after being rescued from the extremely cold water.
